Lincoln, Leeston and Darfield library branches also operate as a Selwyn District Council Service Centre where you can do simple transactions such asdog reading image

  • registering your dog
  • paying your rates
  • lodging Council related related mail and applications

Library

You can use your local library to read and borrow many types of material - not only books, but magazines, CDs, DVDs, graphic novels, jigsaws, eBooks.....In addition, our staff are happy to help with many things for example:

  • Research and information inquiries
  • Photocopying  (see charges here)
  • Laminating (see charges here)
  • Children's Reference/homework help
  • Reserves
  • eCollections including eBooks, eAudio and eMagazines, or using our range of databases
  • Interloans (borrowing uncommon items from other Libraries)
  • Coffee - $2 - per drink served. Please pay at the desk. Currently only available at Darfield and Leeston.
  • Newsletters: adult fiction, childrens books or library news - subscribe to our newsletters here
  • Bookable Meeting Rooms and Conference Rooms

Children's

We have many activities for children, including:summer kids

  • Weekly Storytime sessions in each branch Library
  • Holiday Programmes
  • Childrens Reading Programs
  • Book Clubs

Digital

You can use our free Wifi with your own device, or make use of our free public access computers to:

  • Access email
  • Browse the internet
  • Prepare letters/documentation/homework with the wordprocessing/publishing programmes
